Printing Double-Sided on Paper
If you’re looking for a fast and easy way to cut down on printing costs, watch YouTube for detailed instructions on how to print double sided. This simple method of printing is also a great way for you to decrease paper use and become more environmentally friendly. Typically, machines that are able to print on both sides of paper come with a built-in duplex feature, but you don’t necessarily need one if you want to print double sided.
Before manually printing on both sides, you should check first to see if your printer has duplex capabilities. To find this out, you can either look at your printer manual or search for the feature under printing options on your computer. If you choose to search for it on your PC, look under the printing shortcuts tab. Printers that have this capability will have an option named “two-sided duplex printing”. Select this feature, and then add any other element to the print job that you may require.
One important feature you should select under this options tab is “manual”, which will allow you to selectively print on both sides. Machines that have a duplexer will start by printing all odd pages first if your sheets are the standard 8.5×11 inches. Once all of your odd pages have printed, make sure to keep the pages in order. Now, reload them into your printer with the opposite side facing up.
For those of you that don’t have a duplex feature, you simply have to select the option of “odd pages only” under the print range tab. This will allow you to take the exact same steps as those with duplexers once all your odd numbered pages finish printing. By printing on both sides of the paper whenever possible, you’ll find your paper supply lasts longer and print costs will decrease.
